Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a celebrity who has strayed from country music to pop culture, turning into the pop icon of the future that will endure forever, and sweeping over every corner of the globe. Swift has shed her roots in the country as if she was shedding skins for second purposes showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter in her generation. Swift is able to harness the current zeitgeist and turn it into her own. This was evident in her early songs, particularly on the neo pay homage towards Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008) Swift showcased a writer getting to understand her. Fearless became a massive success and not just in the US, where six of its singles were certified platinum in the wake of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across all over the world. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated this success. The album propelled Swift to superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. Her popularity grew even after she changed her strategy in 2020's more streamlined siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
